L'histoire
Grâce à sa confiance en soi et à son impudence, Joey Evans parvient à obtenir une place de directeur au club de Mike. Il se fait rapidement une petite amie, la naïve Linda. Il la traite mal et finit par avoir une liaison avec une cliente riche et mariée, Vera. Vera aide alors Joey à créer sa propre boîte de nuit mais après que Joey se fasse arnaquer par un agent malhonnête, il tente de faire chanter Vera. Lorsque Linda avertit Vera du plan, Vera et le commissaire de police chassent Joey de la ville.
